Program helped with engine performance

The F5 GM said it works on the 8 speed automatic but you can only change the shift points on 1 st thru 6 th nothing for 7 and 8 gear, also did not see any adjustments for torque management

Just finally was able to install this tuner yesterday. Not too sure yet how much difference its made. Ran it hard yesterday and noticed a decent gain in HP and lowered 0-60 time. One feature I am new to is the throttle boost adjustment. I set it to +8% to start because it ranged from 2-16%. If anyone has any insight to this please share. After a few tanks of fuel ill post an update on fuel economy as well as how I feel about the HP gains.

I bought this to disable speed limiter from my vehicle. It is plug and play and the directions included are easy to follow. I just wish that I went ahead and got the Flashcal instead of now having to upgrade the Flashpaq whenever I decide to tune deeper.

The only thing I wanted to do was to disable the afm or dod. It took a couple of trys to get the tuner to read the engine's computer but it did read it. I went right to stock with options and turned off the dod.what a difference..this was a 2016 tahoe with the 5.3

I have been running this unit for a year. Form and function provide unyielding reliability. I've switched between tune profiles repeatedly as needed without fail. The performance improvements are easily experienced and are traceable. With some other minor adjustments I've now established a consistent low 20's for fuel mileage on the expressway.

This is my second Superchip product, and I'm happy with it to this point. I saw maybe a mile to the gallon increase on tow/haul mode, wish it would have been a little better. The truck does have better throttle response and a very noticeable increase in power, power increase seems to be more in the mid to upper rpm range. Overall a good product, would have given it 5 stars if the fuel mileage increase was a little better.

Works well in my 2013 Tahoe. Turns off DOD/AFM with the press of a button, which was the main reason for purchase. It also seems to help the throttle delay from the drive by wire system. I’ve been running the 87 octane tune and it seems to have a good balance of gettup and fuel economy. Happy with my purchase.

I recently bought the F5 flashpaq and immediately noticed a difference in torque, horsepower, throttle response, and fuel economy. I've got a 6' lift with 35's and was getting anywhere from 12-13 mpg highway. Now I average 17 on the highway and have gotten as high as 20mpg. And that's all on the performance tune, I haven't even tried the economy tune yet. Overall the product does everything it advertises and is very easy to use. I would highly recommend it.

bought for afm deactivation on 14 sierra when i got it i also disabled speed limiter and changed wheel size. the only complaint i have is i never received tracking information and when i reached out to request tracking update i never got a response.

I bought a chip for my 2012 Tahoe, shift points are much better, gain some torque and power. Truck feels peppy. Also able to turn off active fuel management, which is a plus. Very happy.

I bought the tuner specifically to turn off the annoying Fuel Management system in my 2018 Silverado Z-71. The truck wasn't a week old and I was already tired of the back and forth from V4 to V8 mode. I Installed the 87 octane performance tune at the same time and did some minor tuning with the transmission. Couldn't have been happier with the results. Fuel mileage actually increased from 15-16 city to 17-18. Highway fuel economy also improved from 21-22 to 23-25 with a best ever 26.6 on a vacation trip to Florida. I traded in the 2018 Z-71 recently for a 2016 3500HD Duramax and the tuner worked on it as well. I had to log onto the website for updates, and got some excellent Tech help at the same time as the tuner wasn't communicating with the Diesel truck. Anyhow, we sorted all that out and turned up the power. The Performance tune was a little too much, any heavy throttle below about 45 mph instantly engaged the traction control. I settled on the Tow tune and couldn't be happier with it. I love the early shift points and converter lock-up, and am already noticing a nice improvement in fuel economy. Thanks Superchips!....

I bought this about a month ago and like many speed freaks I thought I was buying a tune to unleash some monster like a Lovecraftian horror from under the hood. But I wasn't getting realistic in my expectations, so instead of unleashing the god of all horsepower I sent my little V8 to gym. Little guy worked hard and came out stronger though, and upon reflection I realized that the gains I did get are pretty impressive considering there's no hardware modifications to my engine. It fixed the blatantly disrespectful shift points GM set, told the injectors to actually inject, widened some tolerances to allow more air to flow, tightened others to increase precision, and generally set right many things to wake the ole 5.3L up. It won't be winning any track days like this, but it doesn't embarrass me taking off from stop lights anymore, so I'm calling it a job well done.

I bought this flashpaq just about a month ago, it was easy to repgrogram my truck, so many features are available on it. I specifically bought it for the performance side of things and it’s definitely have an increase in horsepower and torque.

Although the tuner is easy to use I’m unhappy that I have to choose between cruise control and my engine brake to raise the top speed governor. I will probably sell this on the secondary market and not use Superchips again.

I am a programmer, but you don’t need to be with this!! Easy to follow directions. You can make your own changes easily. I added a cold air intake and changed my options. I then added larger wheels and in a minute it was programmed again! I must say, DON’T buy from eBay, unless it is direct from the company. It’s not worth saving a few bucks when you have superchips at your disposal!!! I am way pleased with their product and support!!

The HP gains are minimal, but it is worth it just to fix the shift points and AFM. It is like having a totally different truck, even in the 87 octane mode. It finally drives and shifts the way it should have from the dealer. Well worth the money!

Just received 2845 today. Easy to work and just used the 87 tune plus adjusted for correct tire size and upped shift pressure. I must say I'm completely Happy with this product. Love how it made my 2000 suburban 4x4 5.3L run alot smoother with better throttle response and alot more power. Should pick up even more power once I have cold air intake installed. I have had this for three weeks. It does a great job of adjusting your computer for oversized tires. The economy tune works great. I got back the lost MPG the larger tires ate up as long as you drive it normal. NOT like you stole it. The economy tune gives the 6.0 a lot better midrange. I have been running the 87 octain tune now a few days and see no results to write home about. I will put it back on the fuel economy tune and leave it there that seems to be the best for a stock 2016 chevy 6.0 gas motor. I have not tried the 92 tune because I'm only looking for mpg increases.

The Flashpaq increased the power of my Silverado, improved fuel mileage, allowed me to use regular fuel instead of premium, allowed me to adjust the speedometer and odometer for the larger tire size and is able to read DTC's as well. Great product

I can't believe how easy it is to use.i thought it was going to be complicated process..not at all just a yes or no ..I like how much control I have over my truck..the power levels and transmission control are the very reason I purchased it. I like it and will for a long time because it is upgradeable..I have a 05 Sierra 1500 that I use to tow my 6000 camper ..this F5 gives you more torque in your truck ..a little pricey but worth it if you tow....go get one..

I bought the superchips flashpaq for my 2001 GMC Sierra 1500 because I had regeared the rear differential to 4.88 gears so my speedometer read incorrect. I programmed my truck with the superchips flashpaq just to reprogram my speedometer but got more hp and improved shift points than I intended for. I played around with shift points and even changed up the programming to the performance tune and this product gave me more power overall using the tow tune. At the end of the day this product was a great buy!

I got my tuner in the mail three days ago super easy to instal/fast! I am verry impressed with this you can definitely feel the money you have invested when you push down on the throttle! The truck just wakes right up made it sounds meaner and can you ever here it working now the shifts are quick and smooth now not as clunky! 100 percent recommend to anybody especially with a 5.3 gm motor! Just enough of a boost. Stock Chevy 6.0

3000 miles so far. 1700 miles pulling a 10,000 pound 5th wheel in "tow" programming. The rest has been city/highway driving in "mileage." Adds just enough to make a noticable difference. If you're expecting exponential gains in any category, look elsewhere. This units pre-set parameters just give everything a little boost. Towing program gets better throttle response, tighter shifting, more low end torque and better HP results in less up/down shifting at highway speeds pulling load. Did not help fuel economy but the motor does not seem to work as hard to pull weight and get up to speed. Mileage program has gained me 2-3 MPG average city and 5-6 highway. In this program no loss of power or throttle response noted. HOWEVER, as with any motor, the easier you drive, the better economy you get. Driving aggressive in this program will NOT get you mileage gains. Overall pleased. Easy to use and understand. Price point is just fine for what it does. Will recommend.

Woke it up

I was looking mainly to disable the AFM on my 2014 Sierra 5:3. The Flashpaq did just that. What I wasn’t expecting was the improved throttle response it has now. I’m running the 87 octane program and I’m very happy with it. Will you see major horsepower improvements? No, but you will notice the throttle response. I give it 5 stars because it made more of a difference than I thought it could. I’m not worried about extra power, so I will probably never try the 91 octane tune. Don’t expect a 12 second truck from this, but it does it’s job.

Flashpaq will wake up engine,better response.But can cause engine light to come on like for knock sensor,these sensors can be very sensitive .I am using high octane /E85,. The rebate people don't know what they are doing.

2017 Sierra 1500 SLT - Easy to install and uninstall, works like a charm. Even better in combo with intake and exhaust. Adjusted for custom tire size, removed speed governor, improved throttle response, cancelled out cylinder deactivation, adjusted TPMS values. My 5.3 feels like a 6.2!

2009 Pontiac g8 gt 6.0L got it to delete dod so it doesn’t go into 4 cylinder mode. Wasn’t expecting much of a performance gain but it surprised me. Well worth the money! Only took about 4 min to install!

Bad Tune

I bought Flashpaq 2845 for my 2018 Tahoe RST with 6.2L. Superchips says they support this new model. Upon receiving my Flashpaq and updating it with Ignition, still no tune was available. I had to contact support and wait 5 days for tune. I updated through Ignition software only for the update to hose my device. I had to contact support again, wait for another update. Finally I load tune on to the new Tahoe. I always run 93 octane, I load the performance tune, tahoe is completely stock with 2000 miles. Tahoe immediately feels slower, drops almost 5mpg and when lightly accelerating, the tach would surge like I was blipping the gas. (They said this was a feature call throttle boost). I left the AFM on as I still wanted to drop to 4 cylinder mode. I have purchased superchips products in the past for other performance cars/trucks and never had an issue. This tune was no way ready for this truck and I lost all faith it the tuning or what it was doing to my engine.

I was lucky enough to snag mine during a 30% off holiday sale, the software to get updates worked effortlessly and the flash on the truck took maybe 10 minutes, most of which was me toggling through options. A month later, no complaints. I would buy this again if I had to.

I got my F5 GM Flashpaq about three weeks ago. I love it. Lots more power, finally got better mileage, about 2 more miles to the gallon. It replaced my hypertech max energy Unbelieveable more torque. feels totally different than before. Programs the transmission too. Wish I would have gotten it long before now!!!

Mpg n perf

I was seeking not only performance but mpg. I got the mpg right up front. I had opened up my air and exhaust a bit, but realized there was a barometric damper in the tailpipe from the factory. Asinine of gm i thought. I replaced the tailpipe and it opened up my performance, but dropped my mpg. Even when i babied it on the mpg setting. 87 performance helped get my 3 mpg back. Just the drone that i addressed with a little restriction in the tailpipe. No more putting down the road in v4. Although i would entertain that if it could be restricted to only turning on at highway speed. Other programmers can do that. This would give you five stars. I tried it off and on at highway speed and it does make a difference. The power is minimal, but smooth. Catch myself speeding more. Shifting is sooo much better. Thanks guys.

worked wonders on my 99 2500 silverado with a 6.0, totally woke up that slush box 4l80 and made it shift crisp and actually be responsive, picked up about 2mpg and a bit of power in eco or performance mode, with a cold air intake as well.

I love my 2016 GMC DENALI HD. But out of the box this thing felt like it was sleeping. I mean no power. I tow a 43 ft toy box and wanted a little more power. Even when not towing the truck was just a dog. I installed the program. Tried all the stages and settled on the tow level for all around performance. I don’t have a heavy foot in my truck, I have Moto’s and jeeps for being crazy. The truck feels alive now. Like it can get out of its own way. Huge improvement. Highly recommend. Doesn’t require a whole lot of crazy mods. Keeps the rig reliable.

this tuner works for what im looking for. improved acceleration, speedo correct for 33 inch tires. options are ok, but for a stock chevy 1500 and theres not alot more you can do that this tuner cant. i run the 87 octane tune and lost 1 mpg, but the performance increase is worth it. the mid hp gains are very noticeable. not gonna improve your gas mileage but truck drives smoother and adds power

Wasn’t impressed having to update it before using it, you have supply your vehicle information to get the correct unit so why not update it before shipping. Was not able to get options to load on my truck, sent two emails with no response, called, took three calls for an engineer to tell me you had to go on to a second page in options to find the continue button. After that it is working good, just took right at 3 weeks. Should have better instructions. Also thought it would offer more engine tune options. Was aggravating to get going but works good. You buy one be sure to scroll thru the pages an make sure you get them all.

I bought the flashpaq f5 a couple of months ago and I was not happy about it every time I put the mileage save tune I would feel a loss in power on my 2013 Chevy silverado 4.8.And with the 87 octane tune my truck wouldn't shift into 4th gear until I forced it to 40mph without forcing the truck to 40 I would be going 35mph revving at 2000 rpm so all I use the flashpaq f5 for is to change my tire size

I bought my Flashpaq a month ago for pulling my camper. I have tried it out one time. When using 93 octane fuel I could tell a big difference. Wish unit had a tow set up for standard 87 octane. Hoping it is enough with camper and truck under full load. I have the 5.3 engine which should have been plenty for a 6000 pd camper except for the 20 inch tires(Original). My main objective for buying the Flashplaq, was to get the full potential, out of my 2000 GMC Sierra 5.3. The Performance setting, increased the throttle response and really banged 1st to 2nd. (For an every day driver, I didn't like that). The tuner has the capability, of fine tuning the shift points in % or set at stock shift points. I set mine back to stock shift points for now, to see how it feels. I have yet to drive it. Overall, the programmer did what I expected. It's to bad it doesn't have EGR and CAT delete.

I bought the F5 after hours of researching the competition. I have a 2015 2500hd Cre Cab with a Gas 6.0 with 75k on it. I was not inpressed with the power output when I bought the truck. I have a camper top and I haul a 20ft trailer with a racecar on it. This truck is loaded with gear too. So the whole operation is heavy. I tried the Tow and the Performance setting and settled on the Tow setting. There is a noticeable power gain across the RPM range. You really notice the throttle response and low end torque increase too. I research everything before I buy for myself or Justin Gund Racing. The whole tune upload process is seamless and super easy to do. The price is in range with the competition. If you think your 2500 is doggy, you won’t after getting the F5.

Although it did not work out for my 2017 yukon XL, the TCM failked and needed to be replaced. SC took care of all expenses. I would highly recommenmd but the buyer needs to go by only the web page that states what vehicles will work and not a tech saying on the phone that it will work when in FACT it may NOT.

The F5 does a reasonable job of handling what I bought it for. It does provide a measurable power gain in performance modes available-which when driven in a normal fashion, provides increased fuel economy. However, I will NEVER attempt to call tech support again and ask what "economy mode" is.. They were extremely defensive beyond comprehension when I asked what "economy" stood for because mileage was terrible (worse than stock) in that mode. Even though it's plastered all over "Tuning 101" on the main page of website as "fuel economy improvement", the tech rep insisted there is no such claim.. someone needs to train the techs answering the phone. The sad part is this isn't the original reason I called in, rep was so defensive he wasn't going to let me talk. This unit was recommended to me by my GM shop supervisor and for towing with the 6.2, 8 speed, it does what I want. I am reluctant to recommend an item that the manufacturer won't support even on the phone.

2017 GMC Sierra I bought this mainly to add some power to pull my camper. The extra boost is awesome, went from 9mpg to 12mpg in pull mode. Also went from 23mpg to 26mpg in gas saver mode. The acceleration in performance mode is sweet, great out the hole.

I recently bought this product for my 2017 Yukon Denali XL. I also had the same product in a 2015 that I owned prior. In my opinion, the results in my 2017, while performance mode is downloaded, doesn't seem to perform as good as when I had the same mode downloaded in my 2015. By the way, the 2017 engine has 20 more HP then the 2015 had. If this item added 40-50 HP to my 2017, it's very hard to tell.

I can’t use it on my truck. I was told by product support to take it to the dealer and return the truck to stock. However, everything was fine on my truck prior to plugging into the superchips product. Now it’s an engine light and code nightmare. I bought this to save some money on fuel, now I’m out $450. This was my third and now my last product from superchips.

I installed the flashpaq on my 2011 silverado 1500 5.3 and it has been a game changer. No more lag in acceleration, no more constant upshifts on steep hills, and I turned off the AFM so no more lag from weak 4 cylinder mode. My gas mileage has increased as well which is great. Better fuel economy and power, nothing wrong with that. I was thinking about selling the truck before since it was driving like garbage but honestly this has changed that completely. Worth the purchase.

Eh, not sure what I was expecting for my 5.3 Silverado 2016. I am just running the 87 tune, changed tire size and turned off AFM. Getting a couple MPGs better. Feels like I lost a little power though. I'm not sure I will try the high-performance tune as it only increases HP by about 6 for the 5.3. Noticed 40 hp increase in description, but that is for the 6.2 High-Performance tune. Seems like a lot of money for the little a person gets out of it. May even return it and just go get a custom tune. Always heard how awesome these chips were, but I'm not impressed. Even the customer reviews were pretty great, but I don't agree.

I purchased the flashpaq product because of a referral from a friend. I had been struggling up big hills to the summit at 30mph with the truck overheating. I've never been lower than 45mph since and power isn't the issue. I may need a thermostat, but tow mode is my new friend. The truck is shot from guns!

We were really bummed out that this will not work with our truck. Although it is int he year range it will not work with Rocky Ridges because the ECM is locked. However, tech support was awesome. They spoke with me 3 different times troubleshooting and then they realized the problem. If I ever buy another truck that can use one of these, I will buy from them again.

Bought my Flashpaq originally to use on my 2015 2500HD 6.0L gas and did see a slight improvement but you can't expect to much from a programmer alone on a gas engine. Currently own a 2016 2500HD 6.7L Durumax which I am now using my Flashpaq F5 on and I must say this is by far a must have if you are looking for improved horsepower. I have it currently set on the tow/performance mode in which I took it for a test run following the very short and quick install and I was blown away at the noticeable increase in hp and the shift points were so much better than stock. Well worth every penny!!! Thank you Superchips for such an awesome product.

They worked through the codes I received and sent uploads for me they did stay on the line with me while the issues were worked out and called back to make sure it worked after the last call was elevated to a Master tech. I tried to update it, but to no avail. I tried multiple times to use the website, and it just locked up, or wouldn't connect or update. I only wanted to adjust the fan on temp. I have 2005 Chevy SSR. When I finally found the setting screen, it would not allow me to adjust the temp, to a lower setting. It may be the vehicle, but that is why I bought this programmer. I'm not even sure it let me lower the temp. I am not impressed.

I bought this a couple of weeks ago for my 2009 Pontiac G8 GT. I do like that it can disable the AFM/DOD, but in order to have a tune on it, it increases the transmission shift torque even when set to stock value which makes my car slower. The speed limiter raised value only goes to 140mph vs the 137mph. The raised rev limiter does not raise the rev limiter(park and neutral). Overall I wish I just would have went with hptuners. This tuner is geared towards trucks and not performance cars in my opinion, and as shown in the instruction manual where it highlights how to make the most out of the tuner for a GM truck and almost nothing for cars.

I bought this after my warranty expired looking to increase performance and maybe increase fuel mileage. I had it in the fuel mileage mode and drove to Austin from Oklahoma and was suprised with a 19.7mpg average. I currently have it in 91 tune and have turned the afm off and added a K&N CAI to it. It fills like a different truck now. A co worker has a 2015 Silverado z71 and can't pass me from 70mph now, this 2013 will run off and leave him in the dust. So I know it has helped because his truck is rated at 355hp and mine stock is 315hp. I"m averaging about 17.3mpg from 16.6 stock with the 91 tune if I drive civil. I highly recommend this tuner.

I am very happy with this unit. I was able to adjust my speedometer for the 35s I put on my 2016 Silverado as well as shut off the AFM. I went with the 91 performance tune and the throttle response is notably better. I also much prefer the way it shifts.

I bought this flashpag to disable my AFM on my 2007 Yukon XL. I have had the lifters replaced twice because of the AFM, was seeing the signs again, using two quarts of oil between 3 month oil changes and hearing the lifters clicking on start up. No more oil consumption and no more lifter noise.

I purchased that product couples of days ago, at first I was reluctant some type of skeptical person, then I decided to go for it, i do not regret it, it is an amazing product. it increased my MPG from 15,9 in the city up to 19.8 MPG, and in the highway i used to get no more that 17.0 MPG, after I tune my 6.2L silverado 2018, i am getting 27 MPG, It is just unbelievable!!! it really works. I recently bought this and I am impressed. I think it made a huge difference on my 2008 2500 HD Gasser . It's not no racetruck or anything but really improved its ability to pull a loaded trailer like the truck was intended for. I have not checked milage and never have because it's a 3/4 ton truck not a Ford festiva but it's not any worse if not better. I keep it in tow mode , no need for performance mode. Although is fun . Lemme tell ya I have been using this thang on a 2008 Chevy Silverado 3500hd with ah 6.0 gas motor and man does it work I have it set on tow tune and I no longer have to keep pressing the gas to make it up hills this chip holds the gears out longer and higher rpm’s to get u up without any hesitation and the extra horsepower is definitely noticeable with very quick throttle response I get up to speed so fast even the sheriff thought he saw a ufo the shifts are nice and firm as well but when I received the chip it wouldn’t let me update it on my laptop so I tested my luck and tried to load the tune to the vehicle without any updates and it works great right out of the box without any new updates so far no complaints just smiles for miles

For the price I was expecting a cheap feeling glitchy tuner, but I was wrong. This little thing has a nice screen and a super easy platform. Installed a tune in 10 minutes and it made quite a big difference on the 87 octane tune. Filled it with 93 and tried the performance tune, and wow what a difference with that too. 2008 Yukon Denali with the 6.2. By far the easiest way to add horsepower and driveability to a stock vehicle.

Great features, non-existent customer support

I had been waiting for the Flashpaq to be available for my 2017 Chevy Tahoe. Finally the web site showed it as available and I ordered it (note: I have used Flashpaqs on at least 8 previous cars). Upon arrival I tried to tune the Tahoe and it said "does not support this model year". I fired off a question to customer support and never did hear back. The next week I used the "Ignition" software to update my Flashpaq and tried again. This time it got further but said it was missing files. I waited a week and tried again. Same result. I also tried customer support again and got no response. A week later I updated the unit again and got the same error. I then went through daily updates and finally it did tune my Tahoe as expected. In the end it worked just like those I have bought in the past however the process of getting it to work was not ideal. The total absence of their customer support was disappointing.

I'm so disappointed in the 2845. I have a 3842 for my '12 Ram 1500 with 4.7 and it becomes an animal in any of the performance tunes. I have so many options for tunes with the Ram using the 3842 like 93, 91, 87, XS mileage, tow, and 87 only. Highly impressed, I order the 2845 for my '11 Yukon XL with 5.3. I'm so let down I'm going to return it. I get five options - performance with no octane choice, XS mileage, tow, and stock w/options. I try out performance and it literally does nothing except kill the fuel mileage and does not turn off the AFM. It will still go into 4cyl mode. I can use the stock factory settings and push my Yukon's tow/haul button and get better performance than the performance tune. I'm so let down. The 2845 was a waste of money.

Bought to program my 2002 Trans Am when we upgraded the rear end. Went to install and one of the most popular gear ratios 3.55 for my car is not an option on this programmer. And customer service were zero help and said if it wasn't on there then there was nothing they could do. Will be returning to get my money back.

Granted, my Chevy is a truck not a sports car so I didn't expect it to drive like a sports car. But what I can say is that throttle response is significantly better and the truck gets up and moves right off the get go. In addition, I am able to monitor my transmission temp fluid at all times to ensure my fluid doesn't get to hot. Also, the shifting on the truck is phenomenal. you can really feel the shifting and its so much smoother. One tank of gas lasted me a whole day and a half longer than it normally does. I take a lot of uphill to work and I no longer have to shift down to third gear manually to make it up the hill. Totally recommend this product to anyone who wants their Chevy to drive like it should have from the factory.

Bought this for my 2011 GMC 1500 Sierra Z71. Use the tow tune and mileage tune, regularly. I have 34" tires with a 6" lift with cold air intake and it is a great addtion for the truck!
