G Body

I’ve always wanted aMalibu G Body, specifically a 1979 Landau. It’s the year IMO that Chevy got the tail lights and headlights perfect.

The Malibu to me is the last true Chevy car that kept true to early 60s muscle cars. A small/midsize square body coupe with enough engine bay space to fit whatever size engine your heart desires. That includes a TC or SC.

The Malibu and G body platform is one of the few platforms whose platform is welcomed in all automotive circles. You’ll find them at classic car show, at Lowrider shows 3 wheelin it, Southern Style Big Wheel drag and car shows, Road Cross events, Circle track racing, drag events in every category.

The G Body platform is the perfect car, and for me, it’s the 1979 Malibu Classic Landau

It was the car I lusted after in my teen years and missed buying a Landau with floor shifter in high school because I couldn’t afford it at the time. Fast forward a few decades and multiple completed car projects and I just never seemed to get one until the whole Covid event happened. I foresaw the lockdown coming as I was traveling for work, and found this at a TN car lot for sale online. I decided to buy my dream car. I’ve owned several performance cars from American muscle to European rockets, and I’ll say that this old carburated G Body makes me smile every time I hear that door slam. So much so, that I sold all my other cars and this is my daily driver. I’ve taken what I loved about all my projects and am building my dream Malibu. Something with enough power to put a smile on the straits, but able to carve a road and be tight like a German sports car.
