  • Vehicle Overview

My truck received the name Back Burner Special due to all the other projects that have pushed it to the back of the shop over the years. I acquired this truck over 30 years ago. It was such a rolling piece of junk, I decided that I would try any custom touch that crossed my mind. If you're looking for pedigree in this Ford truck........you might as well move on. Over the years, I've incorporated parts from a variety of different brands of vehicles and even some pieces taken from things like a drafting table. The bed, tailgate, running boards, and roll pan were fabricated from scratch as were a lot of the other small parts. Top was chopped 6", front suspension 70 chevelle, rear suspension 78 mustang II, 400 sbc bored .030, turbo 350, 342 rear out of a blazer.

    Future Plans

Couple years back I got the truck to a point that it is driveable, so I've been doing shake down runs and making minor changes as needed. Future plans are to work on finishing details, like glass, interior, maybe paint and driving it whenever I get a chance. Paint will be dove gray if I live that long.

      • Thanks, things don't always work out and I have created my share of metal scrap. I try to learn from my screw-ups.
