The Sniper EFI Quadrajet™ is here to help with classic installs, perfect for not having enough hood clearance to mount an adapter or don’t want to replace your OEM spread bore intake. Our bolt-on spread bore electronic fuel injected throttle body system does not require any additional adapters, sealing plates, or intake manifold swaps. The Sniper EFI Rochester™ Quadrajet™ (Q-Jet) system retains the same great features as the 4150 Sniper EFI version with (4) 100 lb./hr. fuel injectors, built-in timing control, 3.5" LCD touchscreen, and much more. For power, this throttle body will support up to 500 HP naturally aspirated. In addition, the Sniper EFI Rochester™ Quadrajet™ (Q-Jet) system will fit most stock air cleaners and offers multiple fuel inlet configurations that allow for a stock appearance installation. After you’ve installed your EFI, use our included 3.5" handheld to answer a few simple questions and your system will begin to self-tune with no laptop required. This can also be installed on marine applications, please refer to Tech Resources section for more information on the correct and safest way to install.

Sniper EFI Quadrjet

I ordered the Sniper EFI Quadrjet, EFI fuel tank kit, Earl'Vapor Guard fuel line kit and MSD Dual Sync distributor for my 1969 Pontiac GTO back in May or June 2019. It has the original 400 YS block,bored 40 over, with a Wolverine Blueracer cam. The alternator was replaced with a Powermaster (with internal regulator) because the old one was reading 9V as opposed to 14v. The system will have issues with anything under 12v (rough idle, mis-fire). There is a learning curve for setting up the Sniper system for a novice. After the initial order of the following (Sniper EFI Quadrajet, EFI fuel tank kit), i realized i needed the Sniper coil driver to work with the MSD Dual sync distributor, a Holly Fuel pressure regulator and Earl's Vapor Guard fuel line fittings, along with Earl's Vapor Guard fuel lines. I ran the fuel lines along the frame, following the same path as the old factory lines and up the side of the engine block where the old fuel pump was located. A fuel pump blockoff plate with a Earls' dual hose clamps that has the allen bolt were used to secure the inlet and return lines. If anyone uses the Earl's Vapor Guard fuel lines, they need to use Earl's fittings and clamps. It is a must. The switched ignition source are two leads from the ignition switch (start and run leads, yellow and orange wires i think) The car runs great. No more stalling or hesitation at traffic lights. The throttle response is instant. The GTO starts up right away in the cold which I was never able to do that before and it chirps every gear. The instruction videos are also a must to use when implementing this system. I am glad that i bought this system.

I ordered a complete kit for my 1981 GMC short box 2wd with a 400 small block and TH700R4 , 12 bolt gm rear end 373 with Yukon Posi traction. I have dual tanks and a return style fuel system so I opted to go with a frame mounted fuel pump (it was pretty noisy so I rubber insulated it) The base fit well on my Edelbrock Performer RPM and the linkages worked with the standard settings even my cruise control was no problem! I have a stock HEI setup with the same advance as the carb used with no changes. Following the instructions I put the base tune into the system and it started with no issues. I live at nearly 4000 foot elevation so the base tune was pretty rich and it didn't take long to foul the plugs and carbon up the O2 sensor which then failed. I replaced the Bosch sensor with exactly the same one and talked to tech support about setting up the fuel tables to prevent a repeat of the issues. The parameters of the learning process were way too wide in scope and transferring to base always wrecked the base tune. I narrowed things down on learning and acceleration enrichment and now it starts in any conditions, idles perfectly, accelerates like a finely tuned carburetor the fuel mileage is better than the carb and I dont need to wait until the choke is off fast idle any longer. I also purchased a Y cable splitter and USB cable so I can now create log files and observe real time running characteristics. Still learning how to make small adjustments correctly but watching Joe Simpson videos on YouTube has taught me lots . I highly recommend this choice over the square bore non progressive 800 cfm unit on an adapter plate for fitment, drivability, looks and ease of installation. 715 cfm seems to be plenty for my roller cammed, 10-1 CR, 408 CID with high flow aluminum heads.
