Are you tired of rebuilding the 50+ year old Rochester Quadrajet™ (Q-Jet) on your classic Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Oldsmobile, or Pontiac? Introducing Sniper EFI Quadrajet™. The first bolt on spread bore electronic fuel injected throttle body system that does not require any additional adapters, sealing plates, or intake manifold swaps! The Sniper EFI Rochester Quadrajet™ (Q-Jet) system retains the same great features as the 4150 Sniper EFI version such as; four 100lb/hr Injectors, built in timing control, a 3.5" full color touchscreen and much more!     Part# 550-869K it says that there is a pre set pressure regulator at 58lbs with kit but it goes on to say you need pressure regulator # 12-886 or 12-879. Why would you need another regulator if there is one in the kit?

    Answer
    The Regulator is included, and it comes pre-set to 58.5 - 60 psi. The other two regulators are just listed to inform our customers that we offer different styles than what is included in the kit.

    My engine was put together to stock specs to slightly mild. I wouldn't imagine it''s putting out much more than 300hp. My question is that I was under the impression the original Quadrajet carbs were at 850CFMs and the Holly Sniper Q-Jet EFI system is rated at 715CFM. Does this decrease performance?

    Technically, if the engine demanded 830CFM of air flow, then yes 715CFM would be a restriction. That being said, you would have to spin a 400ci engine 7200+ to demand 830+ CFM, and that''s assuming the engine is 100% efficient, (think Indy car engine)... generally most rebuilt V8''s, even race engine are in the 80-90% efficiency range. The Sniper Q-jet system will pair quite nicely with your application. One cool way to test if an engine isn't getting enough CFM through the throttle body is to toss a vacuum gauge on the engine if the engine is pulling vacuum at WOT (under load) then there is a restriction present in the induction system.
